The New Moon, this month and this year mark a momentous turning point, the end of a 26,000 year cycle, known by many names:

the Great Awakening,

the Ascension,

the Mayan End Times,

the Hopi Fifth World,

Christogenesis,

Timewave Zero and others –

entering phase III (Wisdom) of the Maya (the dream). The number 12 symbolizes completion – the union of heaven and earth, sacred and secular. December 12, 2012 and December 21, 2012, the dates most often given for this evolutionary passage, do not mark the end of the world, but rather the initiation of a global shift, from living in duality and materialism to realizing our unity and divinity.

The most visible marker for such a large cycle is the apparent alignment of the winter solstice with the center of our Milky Way galaxy, symbolic of Spirit's deepest descent into matter and its return to the Light. The more we clear our shadow, the more conscious we become and receptive we can be to the extraordinary cosmic upgrades offered by this alignment. As we shift our focus from making a living ~ to making a difference, as we heal and open our hearts, we perceive and live in an entirely different world. For more, watch the film 2012: The Odyssey and read The Mystery of 2012, compiled by Sounds True.

New Moons mark the beginning of a new cycle and in Sagittarius, is a marker of the birth of new views of ourselves and our place in the Universe. The Sagittarian Archer aims at the heavens, its arrow literally pointing toward the heart of our Milky Way galaxy. Light encodes information. The Galactic Center (GC) at 26 degrees Sagittarius conjunct this new moon, tranmits immense amounts of electromagnetic radiation; celestial bodies aligning with the GC focalize those high-energy particles, triggering shifts in consciousness. Within a few hours of this New Moon in Sag, asteroid Juno conjoins the GC at 28 degrees Sagittarius and opposes dwarf planet Ceres, facilitating the integration of feminine and masculine, as well as a more balanced relationship between humankind and the natural world, Venus' conjunction with the North Node of the Moon in Scorpio and Pallas' square and Vesta's opposition to this New Moon punctuate the evolutionary imperative for equality and collaboration enjoining us to evolve from the love of power vs the POWER of LOVE.

Just a few hours after this New Moon forms, Uranus goes direct, ending its yearly retrograde phase, amplifying cosmic support for a quantum leap in conceousness. The archetype of higher intelligence, innovation and liberation, as well as the planet most associated with Aquarius, Uranus stationed retrograde five months ago on July 13 at 8 degrees Aries its turning direct impels us to take a giant step forward. This is also a SuperMoon where the moon is both at perigee (closest to the Earth) and syzygy (in direct line with the Sun and Earth), increasing electromagnetic and gravitational pulls on the Earth's tides, tectonic plates, as well as our psyches.

On December 20th,21st, 22nd – Jupiter, the planet traditionally associated with Sagittarius, forms a YOD/ 'Finger of God' aspect (two quincuxes and a sextile) with Saturn at 9 degrees Scorpio and Pluto in 9 degrees Capricorn in eachothers signs (mutual reception), further galvanizing us to transcend the bounds of our parental, religious and societal programming.

The Sabian symbol for this New Moon (conj the Sun) at 22 degrees Sagittarius, is “A Chinese Laundry”, suggests that spiritual awakening requires assimilating unfamiliar parts of ourselves and cleaning up all aspects of our lives.

It's never been more crucial to be clear about our intentions and visions for the future. This New Moon, vastly empowered by the tranformative forces of 12/12 and 12/21 magnifies what is in our minds and hearts. What we believe, we will see, What we desire – we will manifest. Are we choosing love or fear? Are we creators or victims? Are we living our life's purpose or our programming? Our answers to those questions determine how we will experience this extraordinary time in history, 2012 will depend on who you are. Nothing will happen to you. What happens is what you choose to happen.
