Here you will find a wealth of information about the phenomenon of homeless in our local community. More importantly, you'll also have a chance to learn more about some of the local services that are available as well as ways that you can get involved in alleviating homelessness. _________ Jason Reed is the co-director and writer for the award-winning documentary "Homeless Not Hopeless (In The Happiest Place in America)". Jason has hosted the "Nonprofit Show" on Channel 2 public access television for nearly 7 years. He also currently works as the Deputy Director at the Women's Shelter Program of San Luis Obispo County. He is active in the nonprofit community and is the current Chairperson of the County Drug & Alcohol Advisory Board and is a board member of the San Luis Obispo Child Abuse Prevention Council (SLO-CAP). Jason was awarded the "Top 20 Under 40" award from the Tribune in 2008. Jason is also a published author, with an article about commissioned grant writing services being published in the Winter 2011 Grants Professionals Association (GPA) Journal. Jason holds a Master's Degree in Psychology from Cal Poly. Christina Bearce is the co-director, editor and narrator for the award-winning documentary "Homeless Not Hopeless (In The Happiest Place in America)". Christina currently serves as the Executive Director of the "Sharing the Dream" non-profit organization seeking to increase awareness about the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King. She was awarded the "Top 20 Under 40" award from the Tribune this year. As the co-owner of a full-service video production company (Highlight Media), Christina has spearheaded efforts to increase awareness about the various unmet human service needs in our community through the use of video. Christina also volunteered her services to produce over 30 videos in a Nonprofit Promotional Video Campaign in 2010, in conjunction with the San Luis Obispo County Community Foundation and United Way of SLO County.
