Here is what Helen Caldicott says about Hope Beneath Our Feet:

“This is a wonderful, inspirational book composed of works by thoughtful, intelligent, and caring people discussing the fact that we and our fellow species face extinction if we proceed with life as we have in the last two hundred years. As I continue to struggle with the monumental challenges facing the human psyche, the hope and new ideas embedded in these essays have lifted my flagging spirits. Essential reading." - Martin Keogh

Hey, Bob, thanks for posting this. I love Byron Katie and the work she does. She's not telling us not to care, or not to work toward the things we believe in... she's telling us we need to start with "me." When I learn to accept what is, I am not in resistance any more, I am more clear, more calm, more peaceful, more ready to stand up and work toward any just causes I believe in. My own centeredness will also be an example and a catalyst for others. We spend so much time resisting... and resistance causes pain. Plus, what we resist persists. What we resist is change, and it's futile. Because change is going to happen... we can count on it! The idea that we can somehow be "in control" is a crazy idea! Control is a figment of our imagination. So what we need to strive for is really acceptance.
Thanks again,
