| DOC NITE PRESENTS:
RIZE (2005- 84 min)
Former commercial photographer and music video director David La Chappelle delves
into the "krumping" culture in South Central Los Angeles, capturing the
unbelievable gyrations of dancers with moves so quick that they warrant
a special disclaimer. The high-octane documentary centers on "Tommy the
Clown" a former birthday entertainer who opened a school to train community kids to krump -- and keep them out of trouble.
Bring food and beverage if you want and a $3-5 to donate to the
Pescadrome for the use of their space. Per usual, we will discuss the
film after the screening.
The location is at 101 S. Quarantina St., SB 93103 (corner of Quarantina and Carpinteria--*ENTRANCE IS ON CARP ST*)
Just a reminder that film screenings are now the first and third Mondays of the month only (and 5th if there is one!) at 7:30 PM.
